  2. Visit the troop during a meeting. We require you to attend at least two troop meetings to ensure you would like to become a member of Troop 39. Please contact the Scoutmaster or Committee Chairman to schedule a visit to the troop.
  3. Schedule an interview with the Committee Chairman. The interview is for both the prospective scout and his parents. It may be recorded for information purposes.
  4. Once you have successfully completed the interview, complete the Boy Scout Application and Health History forms which are then submitted it to the Troop Registrar. The forms can be found at:
  5. Pay the $25 one-time joining fee and $50 annual dues. The one-time joining fee is paid to the National Capital Area Council (NCAC). The annual dues are used to cover some of the operating costs for the troop. You may also choose to pay an extra $12 for a one-year subscription to “Boy’s Life” magazine. Boy’s Life is a monthly BSA publication and has stories about scout bravery, jokes, and helpful hints for Scouting.
